I forgot to post the scarf I made for the veterans!
I subscribe to Lion Brand yarn's newsletters and a few months ago there was an article about Veterans' Day. The National World War II Museum is running a campaign for donated scarves to help the veterans out in the winter. Every year there's a pattern for knit and crochet for you to do or they will accept any scarf you wish to donate.
Here's the one I sent (I swear the colors were not premeditated!)...
I hope whoever gets it will wear it in good health.
If you're interested in making your own or just to check it out...http://www.nationalww2museum.org/education/for-general-public/knit-your-bit.html
I'm sure they would happily take any donations you send them. Current Mood: good

I don't think I've ever posted here before but I am so excited I need to share!
I've been working on this blanket on and off for the last two years. It fits a king-sized bed and covers two people laying under it side by side from covering the feet to the chin. It is SOOO warm and heavy!
I gave it to my boyfriend for Christmas this year. Under the cut are pictures of it spread out on my couch before he came over.( Blanket of AwesomenessCollapse )
I used an ungodly amount of skeins of Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick and Quick yarn in sky blue, navy, and charcoal with a N-hook.

I'm finally done with the baby blanket for Denise and her soon to be born daughter Gabby. It's bigger than I thought it would be, went through 2 skeins of the Bernat 14oz cotton yarn and trimmed it with the same type of yarn but in white doubled up. I'm so proud of it! I'm kinda sad to give it away but the baby will probably be able to use the thing till it's 7 years old considering how tiny the child's probably going to be.
Oh, but here are pictures!!!!( cut to prevent page deathCollapse ) Current Mood: accomplished

I finally finished what glitterkid
called my Zen blanket and what I called the Neon Blanket of Doom.
It was made of the Sugar n Cream neon colors that they had once upon a time that they seem to have phased out in favor of pastels.
I keep forgetting to take pictures of it but when I get home I'll try to remember and post tonight.
Anyway, if you've finished anything since joining the community, please post pictures of it! Hell, if you've started anything *looks over at glitterkid
's ever growing pile of projects*, post pictures of your progress.

And this one time in Yarn Camp...
Hi, I'm D and I'm a yarn whore....
Ok so right now I'm working on a pink & pink baby blanket, a white and green basket weave baby blanket, a multi colored scarf, a big blanket w/ thick n' quick yarn, a harry potter scarf based on the 4th year design... I think that's it.
WE SHOULD MAKE A KNITTING/CROCHETING GROUP! like every other week or something on a certain night we have a yarn club.
I know me = geek. Current Mood: ecstatic

I have been thinking of starting this community for a while.
I think it would be nice if we could share our progress on projects, helpful tips, good links and books for patterns, neat ideas, and sales on yarn. This community is for those of us who are rennies part of the year but year-round yarn whores. The projects posted do not have to be faire related whatsoever. It's just a way to keep in touch while we are not at faire and to see what we're up to crochet/knitting-wise.
So snap a few pictures of the stuff you're working on currently and post them. We want to see! Tell us what yarn you are using and what size needle/hook. Tell us where you got your pattern if you care to share. Show us your final product. Rant about your frustrations on a difficult part and maybe someone here can help you out!
Basically, just keep it mostly yarn project related and tell your rennie-yarn-whore friends!
